The Makueni County Fruit Development and Marketing Authority (MCFDMA) a key project under the Makueni County Government’s department of Agriculture, Irrigation, Livestock & Fisheries invites applications from qualified persons to fill the following vacancy in the Authority: -

BOARD MEMBER – 1 POST

Terms of Service: 5 years Contract

The main roles and responsibilities: -

The member will be responsible to the chairperson of the board.  In addition to contributing towards the performance of the functions as provided for in Section of the MCFDMA Act 2017, other specific duties and responsibilities will be: -

  • Regularly attend and participate in board meetings
  • Serving in committees or task-forces and taking on special assignments where applicable
  • Partnering with the chair and other board members to ensure that the board resolutions are implemented
  • Representing the Authority to stakeholders, acting as ambassadors for the Authority
  • Reading, reviewing and making decisions on requests with regards to board’s minutes, annual reports, other reports, plans and policies presented to it
  • Promoting the National Values and Principles spelt out in Articles 10 and 232 of the Constitution of Kenya an
  • Performing any other duty as may be assigned by the chairperson of the board from time to time

    Requirements for Appointment

  • Be a Kenyan Citizen
  • Be a holder of at least a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya or its equivalent;
  • Possession of a master’s degree will be an added advantage;
  • Have relevant knowledge and experience of not less than five (5) years in any of the following fields: -

o    Human Resource Management

o    Marketing

o    Agriculture

o    Finance

o    Business Management

o    Law

o    Production, Chemical or Agricultural Engineering, or any other related field

  • Is not a state officer;
  • Satisfy the requirements of Chapter six of the Constitution of Kenya 2010
  • A clear understanding of the legislative and policy framework governing the County public Service
