Makueni County Public Service Board is a body corporate established under Section 57 of the County Governments Act 2012 whose mandate includes appointing persons to hold or act in the offices of County Public Service. In order to strengthen the capacity of the Public Service, the Board wishes to recruit competent and qualified persons to fill the following positions as per Article 176 of the Constitution of Kenya 2010 and Sections 45, 50 and 51 of the County Governments Act 2012.
DEPARTMENT OF LANDS, URBAN DEVELOPMENT, ENVIRONMENT AND CLIMATE CHANGE
MARKET SUPERINTENDENTS (3 POSTS) -
1. KIKUMINI/MUVAU WARD – 1 POST
2. NZAUI/KILILI/KALAMBA WARD – 1 POST
3. NGUU/MASUMBA WARD – 1 POST
Terms of service: One (1) year contract
Salary: Kshs. 20,000/- per month
Duties and Responsibilities
i) Coordinate and take charge of garbage collection at their respective stations
ii) Supervise market cleaning shifts
iii) Coordinate refuse recycling schedules between the Government and the local communities
iv) Recruit market cleaning casuals every quarter
v) Payment of market cleaning casuals
vi) Inspect and manage public toilets in the markets
vii) Monitor and Evaluate all waste disposal within their areas
viii) Dumpsite management
ix) Supervise exhausting of premises off- liquid waste
x) Resolve conflicts from waste pollution and enforce waste management policy
xi) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
For appointment to this grade, the officer must have:
i) Minimum education qualification of KCSE mean grade D+ (plus);
ii) Proficiency in computer application;
iii) Demonstrate supervisory skills;
iv) Demonstrate ability to work under less supervision;
v) Be of high level of ethical standard and honesty;
vi) Must be from the Sub-County where the Ward falls
vii) Training in business management course is an added advantage.
