SENIOR FIRE OFFICER - (1 POST)


Terms of Service
:    Three (3) years contract

Salary:           Job Group L

Salary Scale: KShs: 42,970 x 1920 – 44,890 x 2,000 – 46,890 x 2,110 – 49,000 x 2,170 – 51,170 x 2,550 – 53,720 x 2,650 – 56,370 x 2,750 – 59,120 p.m.

 
Duties and Responsibilities

The Senior Fire Officer reports to the Director, Special Programs and Emergency Services and performs the following duties:

(i)                 Ensure overall efficiency and administrative responsibilities in the service;

(ii)              Act as officer in command of fire service and rescue service in the absence of the Chief Fire Officer;

(iii)            Officer in charge of planning for trainings and research;

(iv)             Officer in charge of fire prevention and inspections;

(v)               Act as Fire Brigade head quarter’s commander in the absence of the Chief Fire Officer;

(vi)             Officer in charge of Administration of fire-fighting drills to the firemen;

(vii)          Any other duties assigned by the Chief Fire Officer or Director.

Requirements for Appointment

(i)              Must be a Kenyan citizen

(ii)           BSc. Degree in Disaster Management

(iii)         Must have attended a fire prevention course in fire service training locally or its equivalent

(iv)          Certificate in fire service leadership course from a recognized institution nationally or internationally

(v)            First Aid certificate or Emergency Medical Training from a recognized institution nationally or internationally

(vi)          Served satisfactorily in fire service and or in disaster management institution(s) for a period not less Four (4) years

(vii)       Valid motor vehicle driving license (Class BCE)

(viii)     Be a computer literate

(ix)          Be medically and physically fit

(x)            Have no criminal record
