 1.      Senior tourism Officer (1 Post)

      Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable

      Job Group: L

     Salary Scale: Kshs. 42,970 x 1920 – 44,890 x 2,000 – 46,890 x 2,110 – 49,000 x 2,170 – 51,170 x 2,550 – 53,720 x 2,650 – 56,370 x 2,750 – 59,120 p.m.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  •           Evaluation, analysis and interpretation of monthly, quarterly and annual tourism reports and statistics
  •           Initiate intelligent surveys and research activities and preparing reports thereon, for establishing new tourism products and circuits
  •           Assist in preparation of background papers and briefs for domestic and international tourism promotion in liaison with relevant departments and institutions
  •           Plan and organize exhibitions and local shows
  •           Contact classification of hotels, restaurants and other tourists’ establishments

      Qualifications

  •           Must have served in the county Government of Makueni in a similar position for a minimum period of six (6) years
  •           Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Tourism and Hospitality Management, Wildlife Enterprise Management, Tours and Travel Management, Eco-tourism Management from a recognized institution
  •           Relevant knowledge and experience in local tourism and hospitality industry
  •           Be computer literate

 2.      Tourism Officer I (1 post)

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Salary Scale: Ksh. 38,270 x 1,470 – 39,740 x 1,520 – 41,260 x 1,710 – 42,970 x 1,920 – 44,890 x 2,000 – 46,890 x 2,110 – 49,000 x 2,170- 51,170 p.m.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  •   Co-ordination of tourism data collection, analysis and production of key tourism statistics and indicators.
  •    Assisting in carrying out research and tourism intelligence surveys
  •   Assisting in identification and development of tourism product
  •   Assisting in carrying out domestic tourism promotion activities in various aspects 

 Qualifications

  •   Must have worked with the County Government of Makueni in a similar position for a period of at least three (3) years
  •    Demonstrated competence as reflected in work performance and results
  •   Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: -Tourism & Hospitality Management, Wildlife Enterprise Management, Eco-tourism Management, Tours &Travel Management from a recognized institution.
  •    Relevant knowledge and experience in local tourism and hospitality industry.
  •     Be computer Literate

3.      Assistant Co-operative Officer II (1 post)

Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
Job Group: J
Salary Scale: Ksh. 31,270 x 1,300 – 32,570 x 1,380 – 33,950 x 1,390 – 35,340 x 1,460 – 36,800 x 1,470 – 38,270 x 1,470 – 39,740x 1,520-41,260 p.m.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Promoting and advising co-operative societies on matters relating to specialized activities such as marketing, credit, financing, governance, budgeting, training and education, accounts and management.
  •  Advising on co-operative investments.
  •  Overseeing co-operative elections.
  •  Collecting data on potential areas for analysis and policy formulation.
  •  Developing and monitoring work plans for co-operative extension services.
  •  Overseeing co-operative activities in several co-operative societies.
  •  Enforcing compliance with co-operative legislation.

 

 Qualifications

  •   Served in the grade of Assistant Co-operative Officer III in the County Government of Makueni for a minimum period of three (3) years.
  •  Diploma in any of the following disciplines:  Co-operative Management, Marketing or Finance from a recognized institution.
  •  Certificate in computer applications from a recognized institution.
  •  Demonstrated merit and shown ability as reflected in work performance and results.

 
4.       Support Staff (1 Post)

       Job Group: F

      Terms of Service: Permanent and Pensionable
      Salary Scale:
Ksh.
15,670 x 580-16,250x640-16,890x680-17,570p.m

Duties and Responsibilities

  •  Undertaking cleaning duties in the area of deployment
  •  Performing messengerial duties
  •   Preparing tea and washing utensils
  •  Undertaking any other related duties.

   Qualifications

  • Must have worked with the County Government of Makueni in a similar position for a period of at least three (6) years.
  • Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D or its approved equivalent.
  • Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
